Rookie, Lower Merion Police Dog, Dies

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — A K9 member of the Lower Merion Police Department has died.

The police department announced canine Rookie died suddenly.

"She became very special to us during her many years of dedicated service," police said. "Rookie was not only the loyal partner of Officer Jeff Seamans, she became part of his family. She will be sorely missed."

Rookie was a member of the department for seven years.

NBC10 reports Rookie was euthanized after she was diagnosed with an incurable tumor.
