Serial Porch Pirate Sought By Lower Merion Police

ARDMORE, PA — Lower Merion Township Police are asking for help identifying a man who stole packages from Ardmore homes recently.

According to police, the thefts occurred Thursday on Holland and Locust avenues, and in November on Heckamore Avenue.

On Thursday, residential security footage caught the man above walk onto a porch and take a packaged at about 2:15 p.m.

Then at 2:19 p.m. the same mane took a package from another home on the street.

While investigating those thefts, police found an opened Amazon package destined to a Locust Avenue address in the area of County Line and Aubrey roads in Haverford Township.

Police described the suspect as a man in his late teens to early 20s who was wearing a black Nike baseball cap, a dark green hoodie underneath a dark-colored jacket, light gray sweatpants, white socks, and black sneakers. He was seen getting into the front passenger seat of a dark red, older model Saturn sedan in both theft from Holland Avenue, police said.

Additionally, police said the same man stole a package from a front porch Heckamore Avenue in November.

Anyone with information on the man's identity and whereabouts is asked to call Lower Merion Police Det. Herbst at 610-649-1000.
