'Stoneleigh Saved' Celebration Planned For Dec 2
The public is invited to a celebration for Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden after Lower Merion School District dropped its plan to expand there.

VILLANOVA, PA – With the Lower Merion School District no longer looking to use the Stoneleigh property for its expansion plans, the Natural Lands group has cause to celebrate.
And you're invited to celebrate the news that Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden will remain untouched.
The public is invited to attend a celebration event from 1 p.m to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden.

"Thanks to this groundswell of support, we are delighted to share that Lower Merion School District has identified alternative property for their needs and has taken Stoneleigh off the table," according to the Natural Lands Trust.
The event will feature cookies and refreshments as well as stickers that read "SAVED!"

If you can’t make the celebration event, you can pick up your sticker in the Stoneleigh Welcome Kiosk beginning Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Officials, including Natural Lands President Molly Morrison, will give remarks on the development at 2 p.m.
The Lower Merion School District announced on Nov. 20 that it would no long pursue Stoneleigh as an option for its expansion after it move ahead with buying four Spring Mill Road properties.
At one point, the district floated using eminent domain to take the property.
Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden is located at 1829 E. County Line Road in Villanova.
