Teen Seatbelt Use Crackdown Begins In Lower Merion
Click it or ticket. Lower Merion Police will be out in force for two weeks to make sure teen drivers and passengers are buckled up.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Police in Lower Merion Township will be out in force for the next two weeks, starting Monday, Oct. 16, enforcing seat belt laws that require all vehicle occupants under 18 to wear a seat belt, as well as to encourage safe driving practices in teens.
From Oct. 16 to Oct. 27, Lower Merion Police will be conducting seat belt enforcement activities near Lower Merion and Harriton high schools, as well as on various other roads in Lower Merion Township.
Police hope the efforts will increase teen seat belt use and bring attention to the state law requiring all vehicle occupants under 18 to wear a seat belt.

Additionally, police said drivers and front-seat passengers who are 18 or older and not wearing seat belts will be cited if they are stopped for a traffic violation.
The message is simple: "click it or ticket."
