Wolf Orders Flags At Half Mast For Late Lower Merion Firefighter
Belmont Hills Fire Company Firefighter Thomas Royds died Saturday after being struck by an alleged drunk driver while on duty.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Gov. Tom Wolf Tuesday ordered state flags across Pennsylvania to be placed at half-mast in honor of the Lower Merion Township firefighter who died after being struck by an alleged drunk driver as he responded to a crash.
Belmont Hills Fire Company Firefighter Thomas Royds died after being struck by Jacquelyn Walker, 63, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey at 3:23 a.m. Saturday.
Royds went into cardiac arrest at the scene and was taken to Paoli Hospital, where he later died.

Wolf's order affects all commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds, however all Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.

The commonwealth flag will be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Saturday. The United States flag will stay at full staff.
Walker also struck two other firefighters and a Pennsylvania State Police trooper.
She has been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, involuntary manslaughter, and other crimes in connection with the crash, court records show
