Backbends: Strength or Technique? An Iyengar Workshop with Greg Walsh at The Yoga Garden
Backbends are invigorating and exhilarating. But are they really? Some people may argue that they are exhausting and are more than their back can take. It really depends on how you approach your backbend practice. We can push hard into backbends using forceful brute strength. Or we can float into backbends using correct technique and our latent internal power. The first option feels exhausting, but is the popular backbend approach. The second feels like an unfolding, and is the backbend path we aspire to. Join me on this workshop where we will playfully unlock our latent power, and see our backbends open like the petals of a blooming lotus!
