How to beat the heat in Bala Cynwyd
I provide suggestions for heat-beating activities in the B.C.-N/M.L. area. (That acronym is Bala Cynwyd-Narberth/Main Line, for future reference)
Ok, it’s summer (ahh, yes, that explains the perspiration), and it’s hot. Murray’s and Hymie’s are frying their eggs on Montgomery Avenue. That’s a lie. It would be too dangerous.
So here are some suggestions for things to do in the Bala Cynwyd area, which can make the summer heat more comfortable. They are listed in order of my personal preference.
1. Stay inside – This has been working for me. Basically, you just sit in the air-conditioning. If you have questions about this activity, leave them in the comments section. If you do not have air-conditioning, fans can be effective.

2. Eat or drink something cold – I recommend Lix, connected to Boston Style Pizza on Levering Mill. They’ve got tasty water ice. Also, an Iced Coffee from Town Hall Coffee Co. is a favorite of mine. It’s on Montgomery near Hymie’s.
3. Run through a sprinkler – This is pretty self-explanatory. It was a favorite of five year old Isaac (me).

4. Go to a pool – Basically, you submerge yourself in a lot of chemically-treated water. It’s supposed to be refreshing. Personally, I’m not a fan, but many people swear by it. Children seem to enjoy this activity especially. You may have a pool, or you may know somebody who does. If you do not, there’s always the Belmont Hills Pool, next to the Library in, you guessed it, Belmont Hills.
All right. There you go. Please leave your own suggestions in the comments section. Drink lots of fluids. Go Phillies.
