Stepping Back to Look Ahead

I'm happy to join Patch to add my perspectives to the many goings on in the Lower Merion and Narberth community. My first introduction to Patch was when walked the streets after one of our tremendous snow storms. It is a good reminder that news happens everywhere and every day and the best way to get a real knowledge and understanding of it is to actually go there with your ear to the ground.

Real news involves gaining perspective directly from events and the people who are making an impact, whether positive or negative, on a daily basis. It is easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. We all do it. Peter King of Sports Illustrated actually has a column with the same name. However, the best analysis comes from those who have some level of experience yet admit that they often don't know and are making an educated guess.  Opinion is just that, and I hope that with this blog I can offer opinions and perspective on our community that are different and thoughtful and I also welcome any constructive criticism and challenges to my point of view.

I come to this blog with nearly a decade providing support to progressive campaigns and organizations.  I've worked on campaigns from the very local to the very large and have seen how the process works.  As a result, I have developed a unique perspective on current events and also a respect for anybody who decides to get politically involved.  I hope you will do the same.
