Day Trip: Wharton Esherick Museum and Lunch at Black Powder Tavern- Friday, March 28 at 9:00 AM

On
Friday, March 28, New Horizons invites seniors 55 and over to visit the
beautiful museum and studio of Philadelphia artist Wharton Esherick and enjoy a
lunch break at the historic Black Powder Tavern in Wayne. Nestled in the woods
near Valley Forge, the Wharton Esherick Museum is a hidden
treasure.  Wharton Esherick was a wood sculptor,
recognized as the “dean of American craftsmen.” He built his studio/home in an
organic flowing style over a span of 40 years. 
The studio/home is now the Wharton Esherick Museum, recognized
as one of the most unique buildings in the US, filled with unusual spaces, his
innovative furniture and wood sculptures. 
Don’t miss this trip! The bus departs from 201 Sabine Avenue at 9:00 AM,
and will return to the pick-up point at around 2 PM.  Fee is $30 a person for Members for the
bus/tour/lunch, $35 for Non-Members.  Spaces are limited, so please contact New
