Dinners Tonight at Four Lower Merion Restaurants Help Volunteer Firefighters
The scholarship promotion is happening throughout the Main Line.

Eight Main Line restaurants, four of them in Lower Merion, will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from tonight's business to the Main Line Chamber Foundation's scholarship program for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical services workers.
The promotion is called Taste For Fire, and its revenue could provide gifts as large as $1,000 to some volunteers pursuing degrees. The MLCF began giving students scholarships in 2001 and added a focus on volunteer emergency personnel in 2006. On its website, the foundation reports it has given more than $150,000 in total scholarships, $79,000 of it to firefighters and EMTs.
In a statement to local media, foundation president Bill Grim said, "The funds collected directly benefit volunteer firefighters and volunteer emergency medical services personnel who selflessly donate their time—and in some cases, put their lives on the line."
