Fired Waitress Attacks Chili's Customer, Lower Merion Police Say

Katia Monet Lambert, 18, of Philadelphia is charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

A Bala Cynwyd waitress's angry response to customers changing seats Thursday got her immediately fired, after which she viciously attacked one of the customers and was arrested, said Monday at a weekly press briefing.

Katia Monet Lambert, 18, of the 100 block of North Redfield Street in Philadelphia is charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Unsecured bail of $5,000 was levied, and she faces a preliminary court hearing Friday, according to county court records.

Witnesses told police that about 4 p.m. Thursday, a pair of customers Lambert was serving moved from a table to a booth. When Lambert noticed, she became upset and told the customers they couldn't just move because they wanted to, police said.

The pair then complained about Lambert to the manager, who took the waitress in a back room and fired her, police said. When Lambert emerged, she told one of the booth customers, "I just got fired," pulled her to the ground by the hair and kicked her in the head several times, police said.

A manager pulled the waitress and customer apart, and shortly after Lambert left the restaurant, she was arrested on City Avenue, police said. The customer refused medical treatment.
