Perfecting Inversions: Iyengar Workshop with Greg Walsh at The Yoga Garden

Inversions are at the heart of yoga practice, historically they are some of the most ancient practices documented. They are part of what makes yoga unique amongst body orientated practices and are hugely beneficial and satisfying. I like a lot of variety in my practice. Some days I work on my standing asanas. Some days I focus on sitting or lying poses. But I always do headstand and shoulderstand, and other inverted asanas. In my mind each inversion is a self sustaining, stand alone yoga practice. If I need a 5 minute turbo recharge during the day, but just have a few minutes, I often stand on my head. It needs nothing else, no warm up, no cool down. I would never think: I will just do a quick warrior, or lotus. Join me for a three hour exploration of the world upside down!
