Photos: Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market Opens

The Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market opened on Thursday, May 19, and will run every Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. through November.

When the Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market vendors say the market’s open rain or shine, they mean it. The market opened for the season on Thursday, shortly before a sudden downpour, but loyal market goers continued to come and go throughout the afternoon.

Green Zebra Farm, Fruitwood Farms and Down to Earth Harvest offered marketgoers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including sugar snap peas, scallions, strawberries and more, while John & Kira’s Chocolates, Sarah Bakes and Wildflour Bakery offered up some sweeter treats.

The Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market is open 3 to 7 p.m. every Thursday, rain or shine, through November, in the parking lot of the GSB Building at Belmont Avenue and St. Asaph’s Road. A list of vendors is available on the market website.
