Police Blotter: Belmont Hills Man Charged With Fleeing Taxi Bill

On Tuesday afternoon, Lower Merion Township police reported to news media incidents from the past week.
The lone incident in Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch happened about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the Sunoco on Belmont Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.
Police said Robert Dabolt-Brind, 32, of the first block of Jefferson Street in Belmont Hills took a cab from Philadelphia toward home, then directed the driver to stop at Sunoco so he could get money from the ATM.

When the transaction failed, police said, Dabolt-Brind tried to run from the gas station, but the cab driver stopped him until police arrived.
Dabolt-Brind was charged with theft of services and public intoxication.
