Police Blotter: Thief Drives Scissor Lift Off City Avenue Construction Site After Finding Keys in Ignition

A running vehicle in the Belmont Avenue Wawa parking lot was stolen, too, the second in three weeks.

Late Sunday night or early Monday morning, someone stole a $15,000 scissor lift from inside the Jules Jurgensen store under renovation at City Avenue and Bryn Mawr Avenue, Lower Merion police said Monday afternoon.

The keys were in the ignition of the vehicle, which is red and manufactured by the JLG company, police said. Anyone with information about the theft can call police at 610-649-1000.

  • An unlocked 2008 Nissan Armada with the engine running was stolen about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday from the parking lot of the on Belmont Avenue. Security-camera footage showed a tall black male in a stocking cap getting into the vehicle and driving away. Another running vehicle was stolen from the same parking lot .
  • Plymouth Meeting resident April Lisante, 37, was arrested Tuesday and charged with DUI on Levering Mill Road near Conshohocken State Road. A test at police headquarters showed a 0.29 blood alcohol content, police said.
  • On Sunday, residents of North Washington Avenue in Belmont Hills returned from vacation to find their doors pried open and an undetermined amount of jewelry stolen.
  • Late Thursday or early Friday, someone smashed the window of a car parked at the in Penn Valley and stole a Seiko watch.
