Report: Cop Suspended For Crash On Way to Belmont Hills Shooting

A responding officer was involved in an accident at an intersection on his way to the scene, the Main Line Times reports.

A Lower Merion officer was suspended after he crashed his car in October en route to a Belmont Hills shooting, the Main Line Times reported Monday.

The officer, whom police union president Gavin Goschinski did not name to the paper, was hospitalized and has been on "light duty" ever since, according to the report. The location of the accident was not specified.

On Oct. 15, authorities say, Magdalene Dressel, 41, Frank Fiora, 31, in front of their Jefferson Street home.

She is and other counts; Fiora also faces charges, including for simple assault.

Both are due to have pretrial conferences this month in Common Pleas Court in Norristown: Dressel Feb. 15, Fiora Feb. 27.

Another township officer set to be suspended for three days also had been involved in a vehicular accident, according to the Main Line Times report.
