A Library Story...

Once upon a time there were two neighbors, Bob and Bill. Bob and Bill have a similar list of things to they want to get done today. They each need to pick up a morning newspaper, rent a DVD for the evening, buy a few magazines to take on vacation, download a couple of e-books for the trip, check Consumer Reports for information on that new gas grill they’d like to buy, print out a boarding pass for vacation, and finally, grab a fresh cup of coffee. Bob is headed out to the nearest Red Box and then to the local drug store for those magazines. He’ll also hit Barnes and Noble for Consumer Reports and darn it—his printer is out of ink so he’ll need to stop by Office Depot for a new cartridge. He’ll log onto Amazon.com and buy a couple of e-Books while drinking a latte at Starbucks. He got everything he needed, used a few gallons of gas and racked up $50 on his credit card. Bill went to the Whitehall Library. He read the paper while drinking a fresh-brewed cup of coffee. He borrowed some magazines, consulted Consumer Reports, picked up a new release DVD, printed his boarding pass (ten cents) and downloaded some library e-books. No credit card necessary, just a library card. Are you making the most out of your public library? Come and see what you’ve been missing!
