PITTSBURGH, PA - State Rep. Harry Readshaw has decided that his 13th term will be his last in the House. The Carrick Democrat announced Tuesday that he plans to retire after 25 years as a state lawmaker.

The decision means that for the first time since 1995, residents of the 36th District - which includes parts of Pittsburgh as well as Baldwin, Brentwood and Mt. Oliver - will have a new representative in Harrisburg.

"For 13 terms -- that translates into 25 years -- I have been blessed and humbled by being elected Pennsylvania state representative of the 36th Legislative District," Readshaw said in a statement. "The 36th District has been reapportioned twice during my tenure and has geographically changed. Yet, my constituents have honored me with their continual support, and I am very grateful."
