Anti-Smoking Program Teaches Elementary Students to 'Kick Butts'

Bensalem Township High School students will head to Cornwells Elementary School to teach kids about the dangers of smoking.

The Kick Butts Generation students from Bensalem Township High School will visit Cornwells Elementary to teach kids about the dangers of smoking.

High schoolers will visit fifth and sixth grade students at the elementary school on Thursday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon with their "Kick Butts" message. During this time, Cornwells' students will rotate through interactive stations that will educate them to the dangers of smoking, according to information from the school district.

Seven stations will be set up to encourage the elementary students to never smoke. One station will allow students to age their face in a video game to see how smoking can make you look older, while another station is focused on coloring anti-smoking pictures.

The fifth and sixth graders will be able to play games like bowling and kick ball with an anti-smoking message and they can pledge to never smoke at the pledge wall.

Then after visiting the stations, Dr. Frankie will give a graphic and educational presentation to show the students what can happen to the parts of your body if you smoke.

The Kick Butts Generation is a student-run club at the high school that focuses on anti-smoking messages.
