Bensalem School Board Looking To Fill Vacancy After Recent Resignation

Bensalem School Board member Jason Harris resigned Wednesday and the district is currently accepting applications to fill the vacancy.

The Bensalem Township Board of School Directors have scheduled a special session on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. to appoint a new school director.

Residents who want to apply should send a letter of interest to Bensalem School District, attention school board secretary Susan Harder, Dorothy D. Call Administrative Center, 3000 Donallen Drive, Bensalem, PA 19020-1898.

Applicants must be available to appear at the special session for public interview. The deadline to apply is 3 p.m. on Oct. 18. The term ends on the first Monday of December 2017.

Harris, who is now the business administrator for the Morrisville School District, resigned due to conflicts with his job. The dates of the school board meetings in Morrisville conflict with Bensalem's school board meetings, the Courier Times reported.

He said he is "sad to leave, but I know the board is in good hands," according to the Courier Times.
