Bensalem School District Appoints New Director of Business Operations

BENSALEM, PA -- The Bensalem Township School District has announced the appointment of John Steffy to the position of Director of Business Operations, replacing Christopher M. Berdnik. Berdnik accepted a position as Business Director in the Centennial School District.

Steffy has twenty-four years of experience as a chief financial manager for Pennsylvania School Districts, Bensalem said.

Since August 2011, he has served as the Business Manager at the Bristol Township School District. Steffy is well versed in state and federal subsidies, budgeting, collective bargaining, transportation, facilities management, school construction, debt management and investments, negotiating vendor contracts, purchasing, and other financially related aspects of school business, according to the district.

He also worked in the Auditor General’s office.

His starting salary will be $149,500.

Steffy earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Albright College and received his CPA license in 1995. He is married to his wife Susan. They have two children, Jennifer and Paul.
