Groomer Sent Dog Home Stoned From Bucks PetSmart, Owner Says
The Bucks County SPCA is investigating animal abuse involving a pup that had "high levels of marijuana" after a PetSmart session Saturday.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Teddy is returning to his playful self.
While the 1-year-old pup is not taking long walks yet and is "definitely still tired," Teddy is slowly recovering from an ordeal in which his owner Kelly Fowler told Patch Tuesday that he "somehow ingested high levels" of marijuana after returning from a visit to PetSmart for grooming.
Cindy Kelly, director of communications for the Bucks County SPCA, said the agency has contacted PetSmart and is conducting an investigation into the incident.

PetSmart did not respond to calls seeking comment from its Fairless Hills location near the Oxford Valley Mall.
Fowler said that she has taken Teddy to that PetSmart "many times before" for grooming.

She dropped Teddy off at 9 a.m. Saturday and picked him up at 12:45 p.m.
But Teddy wasn't wagging his tail as usual and seemed "a bit off" but Fowler figured he was tired and thirsty.
As Fowler and her daughter Brooklyn were driving home, she said that Teddy could not keep his eyes open.
"I became worried but decided let’s get him some water," the Trevose woman said. "We got home put him down to drink and he fell to his side. I called PetSmart to see what they did to my dog and they said they never give them medicine and he was happy when he was there."
She then took Teddy to Blue Pearl Hospital in Levittown in where some urine and blood work determined that while in the care of the groomer he somehow ingested high levels of THC (marijuana).
Fowler said she was told that when a dog ingests it, it shows symptoms within 90 minutes, which he was with them for almost four hours.
Fowler said she filed a police report and called PetSmart's corporate office.
"When I called that location, they laughed at me as if I was a joke," Fowler said. "After the doctor showed proof, they paid the $500 vet bill. I would also like the money back for the haircut and what they did to my dog is animal abuse."
