Punk Rock Photo Exhibit, Artisan Craft Fair, And Pet And Family Fun This Weekend In Bucks

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The last weekend in August is packed with things to do around Bucks County.

In Doylestown, a photo exhibit is documenting the punk rock scene of the 80s. Meanwhile, a Bucks County craft brewery will be hosting an artisan craft fair.

There are also several family-friendly events taking place, including the Nook Fair in Doylestown and a fire and home safety event in Jamison.

Punk Rock Photography Exhibit Opens

Works by legendary music photographer Jim Saah are now on view at Native Cafe, 12 South Main Street, in Doylestown Borough. The exhibition titled "Jim Saah, In My Eyes, Photographs 1982-1997," features many of Saah's most iconic photographs from the fertile early Washington, D.C. punk scene and beyond.

Artisan Craft Fair At Newtown Brewing Co.

The Newtown Brewing Company will hold an outdoor Artisan Craft Fair on Sunday, August 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. The event is set to bring local artists and businesses to the brewery for an afternoon of shopping, food, and live music. “Come join us for our outdoor artisan craft fair. Grab a pint and tasty dish from our food trucks and shop some amazing local artists and businesses while listening to live outdoor music,” said the brewers.

Nook Fair Offers Family Fun In Doylestown

Nook Nook Creative Village will host its annual Nook Fair on Sunday, August 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4059 Skyron Drive in Doylestown, near the Doylestown Airport. The free community event brings together live music, art, food, games, hands-on activities, local businesses, young creators, and families from throughout the area. More than 2,000 people attended last year’s fair.

Rotarians host Pet Fair & Family Fun Day

A free pet fair and family fun day will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mayor's Playground in the heart of Langhorne Borough. The day will feature fun activities for the kids, craft vendors, pet vendors, food vendors, a petting zoo, exotic animals, storytelling, giveaways, raffles, and more. As Langhorne Borough celebrates its 150th anniversary and the nation marks its 250th birthday, this year’s event will feature a few patriotic touches as part of the festivities.

"Cause For Alarm" Campaign Visiting Bucks

Kidde will bring its "Cause For Alarm" home fire safety campaign to Bucks County on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, located at 2740 York Rd. in Jamison. Attendees will have the opportunity to refresh their fire and carbon monoxide safety knowledge while enjoying a variety of family-friendly activities , including a visit with Peppa Pig, a snow cone truck, and more.

Meet Philadelphia Walking Tour Author

Readers and community members are invited to attend a special event highlighting the book, "Philadelphia: A Walk Through History," on Saturday, August 29 at the Doylestown Bookshop. The event will feature local Philly author Natalie Pompilio, who will discuss the book and engage with attendees during a book signing. The book's guided walks introduce readers to the people who helped shape the nation and the places where they lived, worked, and made history.

'Clear The Shelters' At Bucks Animal Center

The Women’s Animal Center in Bensalem is joining others across the country on Saturday for the annual "Clear the Shelters" event. America’s First Animal Shelter will hold the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's the 12th Annual NBCUniversal nationwide "Clear the Shelters" pet adoption event that helps find loving forever homes for surrendered and stray animals.
