Key Ramp On Route 1 Improvements Project Reopening

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A key ramp on the Route 1 Improvements Project is reopening.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that the ramp from Rockhill Drive to southbound U.S. 1 in Bensalem Township will reopen Monday night after two years of construction under PennDOT’s $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.

Meanwhile, the left-turn lane from westbound Rockhill Drive to U.S. 1 North ramp will close for three months.

In addition to the ramp reopening, motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen Route 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business Route 1 Interchange.

This project also will improve the U.S. 1 interchanges at Neshaminy, Penndel/Business 1, and Rockhill Drive. Additionally, the bridges over Rockhill Drive, Neshaminy Creek, and Business U.S. 1/CSX/SEPTA will be replaced.
