Route 1 Reconstruction Traffic Shift Begins This Week
PennDOT said the reconstruction of southbound Route 1 should be completed this week in Bensalem Township.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —A traffic shift begins on Monday for this week for a reconstruction project on Route 1 in Bensalem Township, PennDOT said.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the traffic shift will be completed this week on southbound Route 1 under PennDOT’s $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway.
Lane closures are also planned on Rockhill Drive.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, Oct. 28, through Thursday, Oct. 31, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, a single-lane pattern will be in place in both directions on Rockhill Drive between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard for drainage installation.
- Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a single-lane pattern will be in place in both directions on U.S. 1 approaching the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 interchange to complete the traffic shift.
Activities to prepare for the traffic shift that will move southbound Route 1 traffic from the northbound side of the highway onto the recently completed bridges over the SEPTA and CSX railway and Rockhill Drive at the Neshaminy Exit were completed earlier this week.
