School District Will Fill Vacancy of Late Bensalem Township Member

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bensalem Township School District is expected to fill the vacancy of the late Heather Snyder at its upcoming reorganization meeting.

The school district will appoint a successor to Snyder, a longtime township educator, at its reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Dorothy D. Call Administrative Center, 3000 Donallen Dr. in Bensalem Township per the Public School Code of 1949, as amended.

Anyone seeking to apply to fill the vacancy for the school director position should submit a statement of interest and qualifications to Susan M. Harder, School Board Secretary, at the Dorothy D. Call Administrative Center, 3000 Donallen Drive, Bensalem, PA 19020.

The school district is taking applicants no later than 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Snyder passed away in mid-October.

The former township councilwoman had served on the school board since 2019.

The school district honored her legacy at a meeting last month with Schools Superintendent Samuel Lee saying Snyder was "a remarkable educator, a great board member, council person and an even better person."
