Son Stabs Stepfather In Chest In Bensalem Township: Police

Angelo Torres-Nantipia of Trevose has been charged with attempted criminal homicide. He is being held on $1 million bail.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A 21-year-old Trevose man is in custody Wednesday after being charged with attempted criminal homicide in the alleged stabbing of his father, authorities said.

The Bensalem Township Police Department responded to Boston Avenue in Trevose at 8:34 p.m. Tuesday for the report of a stabbing.

A caller stated that his brother, Angelo Torres-Nantipia, had just stabbed his father, Oscar Macas, in the chest, police said.

When officers arrived, they encountered Torres-Nantipia in the front of the home armed with a knife. He was taken into custody without incident.

Officers found Macas lying on the patio deck of the home with a sucking chest wound from an apparent knife wound.

Officers retrieved a trauma bag from the police vehicle, applied a chest seal, and performed other life-saving measures.

Bensalem EMS personnel arrived and transported the victim to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was immediately taken into surgery.

He is currently listed in critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit, police said.

The victim is the stepfather of Angelo Torres-Nantipia.

It was found that Macas had obtained a temporary (6-month) Protection from Abuse Order on March 13 from Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Matthew Weintraub for his stepson.

Torres-Nantipia was charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Indirect Criminal Contempt and related charges. He was arraigned by District Justice Corryn Kronnagel and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $1 million bail.
