📰 News we're reading

• Strike avoided at Berwick Area (citizensvoice.com) — Teachers and staff at Berwick Area schools appear to have avoided a strike after negotiators restored a tentative contract agreement following a five-hour bargaining session. The deal, which still needs union and school board approval, resolves a dispute over the district's sick-leave bank but leaves other issues, like veteran-teacher pay and work-to-rule tensions, still simmering in the background.
