During this hands-on program, you’ll learn how to search for, collect, and identify wild mushrooms while uncovering key tips on fungi safety, identifying look-alike species, sustainable harvesting, and resources to continue your foraging journey.
Be sure to bring a collection bag or basket to gather your finds. Program is free, but space is limited, and online registration is required.

Friday, May 8, 2026&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;10:00AM - 2:30PM EDTReconnect with nature and yourself through a unique, full-sensory experience that blends movement, mindfulness, and the healing power of the outdoors. This free wellness program invites participants on a 4.5-mile paddle and 4.5-mile bike ride along the Lehigh River and D&amp;L Trail, guided by nature-based therapeutic practices including forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku. Led in partnership with Stacey Vinci, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and certified forest bathing guide, this program is designed to support emotional, mental, and physical well-being. 
<h4>Program Highlights:</h4>
<ul><li>Begin at Sand Island in Bethlehem with a warm welcome and reflective forest bathing prompts</li><li>Bike 4.5 miles to Allentowns, Canal Park, via the scenic D&amp;L Trail</li><li>Paddle 4.5 miles down the Lehigh River back to our Sand Island starting point</li><li>We will pause for lunch (please bring your own) and a short guided forest bathing activity</li><li>Learn about Wildlands’ conservation work along the way</li></ul>

Boating offers full-body physical activity that improves core strength and cardiovascular health. The repetitive, rhythmic nature of paddling can also help reduce stress and support emotional regulation, important components of recovery and overall wellness. Forest bathing encourages you to slow down, observe with your senses, and reconnect to the present moment. Wednesday, May 13, 2026&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;10:00AM - 12:00PM EDTJoin Wildlands Conservancy for a guided exploration of a restored meadow and help contribute to real scientific research. Senior Restoration Ecologist Kate Ebel will lead a tour highlighting the meadow restoration work Wildlands has completed, sharing insights into why meadow habitats matter and how native plants support wildlife.
After the tour, participants have the option to take part in a wildflower bioblitz, contributing to citizen science by observing and documenting plant and insect species found in the meadow. Your observations will help scientists better understand local biodiversity and the success of restoration efforts.
Please note: There will be a short but steep walk along a gravel service road to reach the program location. Participants should come prepared with appropriate footwear and be ready for uneven terrain.
