New Southwest Chain Restaurant Coming to City

Moe's Southwest Grill, a chain which boasts all-natural ingredients, plans to open in the strip mall next to Scheetz.

 

A Southwest-themed chain restaurant that boasts natural, healthy ingredients, uses the word “sustainability” to describe one of its core values and serves free chips and salsa with every meal is coming to Bethlehem.

Moe’s Southwest Grill, an Atlanta-based chain, will fill an empty storefront at 3211 Schoenersville Road – in the strip mall next to the in the northwestern corner of the city. Though the chain has only been in existence since 2000, there are more than 420 of them across the country, according to the restaurant's Website.

Signs in the windows of the empty storefront that had been the home of the Five Star Café announce that Moe’s will be “coming soon.” The precise opening date was unclear.

The restaurant serves no food with trans fats or MSG and never uses a microwave oven, according to the Website.

“The fully customizable menu proudly boasts all natural, cage-free, white breast meat chicken; steroid-free, grain-fed pulled pork; 100% sirloin, grass-fed steak; and organic tofu,” the Website says.

The menu includes what you would expect from a Southwest-themed restaurant – burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and fajitas, which are all given colorful names like the Homewrecker, the Funkmeister, the Fat Sam and the Art Vandalay.

Another unique touch is the restaurant’s soundtrack, which includes nothing but dead musicians.
