• Two shot in Bethlehem (newportdispatch.com) — Two men were shot in Bethlehem on Thursday evening, one suffering life-threatening injuries, and city police are still searching for whoever is responsible. Officers responded around 6 p.m. to Merriman Court and Flower Drive, later learning a second victim had reached a hospital. Anyone in Bethlehem who saw or heard anything is urged to contact police by phone or email.

• Pennsylvania will let stores sell only 159 vape products starting Oct. 19 (lehighdaily.com) — Bethlehem vape shops like Jack's on Linden Street must clear most disposable vapes from their shelves before Pennsylvania starts enforcing a strict approved-products list on Oct. 19. Only 159 nicotine vapes from six manufacturers will remain legal to sell, with steep fines and possible license loss for violations. Local lawmakers largely backed the law, which targets flavored disposables popular with teens.

• Mountain Hawks Fall to Loyola in Season-Opener at Jacobs Pool (lehighsports.com) — Lehigh University's women's swimming and diving team opened its season at Jacobs Pool in Bethlehem, falling to Loyola despite several standout performances. Local fans saw multiple event wins from Eliza Johnson and teammates across backstroke, butterfly, freestyle, and distance events. The Mountain Hawks now look ahead to their next meet at Rider on Oct. 17.
