State Will Install Temporary Walk on Fahy Bridge
Warnings to avoid the bridge sidewalk have gone unheeded by pedestrians.

A temporary pedestrian walkway will be installed on the Philip J. Fahy Memorial Bridge by month’s end a city official told City Council on Tuesday night, according to this story in The Express-Times.
The state plans to create a new pedestrian walkway in one of the car lanes, by partitioning it off with concrete dividers, Community and Economic Development Director Joe Kelly said.
The bridge remains open to vehicular traffic.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in late August, citing deterioration to the steel supporting the sidewalk and deterioration to the concrete sidewalk itself.
Pedestrians have largely ignored the warnings since the sidewalk was closed, moving aside barrels and police tape blocking the walkway entrances.
