• PFAs on farm fields are contaminating drinking water (spotlightpa.org) — Residents near Briar Creek in North Centre Township are grappling with PFAS-contaminated well water and state warnings not to eat fish from the creek, after decades of sewage sludge spreading on nearby farms. State regulators have found extremely high PFAS levels in many local wells, installed home filtration systems, and launched a health study, while advocates push Pennsylvania to curb sludge use and strengthen protections for waterways like Briar Creek.
