Aqua America Extends CEO's Contract, Restructures
The changes were announced last week.

Bryn Mawr-based announced on Dec. 6 that it signed CEO Nick DeBenedictis to a contract extension through mid-2015.
"I am honored to have been asked to continue to serve the company until mid-2015 as Aqua expands on our already successful growth program. I look forward to working with our three seasoned executives, in whom I have the utmost confidence, as we continue to grow the company," said DeBenedictis in a press release.
In the same release, the company added that it appointed three senior vice presidents to executive vice president. Karl Kyriss, who has been with Aqua for 17 years, will deal largely in acquisitions; Christopher Franklin, a 20-year veteran of the company, will be COO of regulated operations; and David Smeltzer, a 25-year employee, will become executive vice president of finance. All three will report to DeBenedictis.
