Aqua PA Investing $2.8M On Main Line Water Upgrades
Crews are working in three Main Line municipalities on a major water main replacement project to improve area residents' services.

BRYN MAWR, PA – Aqua Pennsylvania is currently working on major projects on the Main Line to improve water services around the Main Line.
Aqua PA crews are working on a $2.8 million infrastructure improvement project in Lower Merion, Radnor, and Haverford townships.
Crews recently began working on a $523,000 project to install 1,479 feet of new ductile iron main to replace existing 6-inch and 8-inch cast iron mains. With project completion expected in December, work is taking place on the following streets:

- Harriton Road between Morris Avenue and a point 379 feet west of Morris Avenue
- Gatemore Road between Harriton Road and Morris Avenue
Crews are also working on a $517,000 project to replace existing 6-inch cast iron mains with the installation of 2,225 feet of 8-inch ductile iron mains. The project, which is expected to be completed this month, is taking place on Greentree Lane near North Woodbine Avenue.
Additionally, crews are at work on a $81,000 project to replace existing 6-inch cast iron mains with 394 feet of new 6-inch ductile iron mains. Work is expected to be completed in December and is taking place on Stanford Drive near Lancaster Avenue.

In Radnor Township, crews are working on a $793,000 project to install 3,570 feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe. With project completion expected in December, the work is taking place on the following streets:
- Sugartown Road between Longwood Drive and Poplar Avenue
- Longwood Drive between both ends of Sugartown Roads
- Calvarese Lane between Kirsch Avenue and end of the cul-de-sac
- West Beech Tree Lane between Eagle Road and the 400 block of West Beech Tree Lane
In Haverford Township, crews are working to complete a $398,000 project to replace existing 6-inch cast iron mains with 1,786 feet of 8-inch ductile iron mains. Work will take place on the following streets:
- Bon Air Road between Central and Grand avenues
- Central Avenue between Fairview Avenue and Bon Air Road
Crews have begun work on a $570,000 project to replace existing 6-inch cast iron water main with the installation of 2,080 feet of 8-inch and 600 feet of 6-inch ductile iron pipe in Radnor and Haverford townships. With project completion expected in December, work will take place on the following streets:
- Wooten Road between Bryn Mawr Avenue and the 900 block of Wooten Road
- Westview Road between Highland Lane and end of the cul-de-sac
Each of these projects will increase service reliability, reduce the potential for discolored water and improve firefighting capabilities in the area. These main replacements are part of Aqua’s $62.9 million capital program in Montgomery County and $51 million capital program in Delaware County for 2017.
