Interested in Joining Lower Merion Community Watch?
A training class is scheduled for Oct. 21 for those who would like to get involved.

Lower Merion Police have scheduled a training class for residents interested in getting involved with Lower Merion Community Watch.
The one-hour class is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Public Safety Building, 71 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore. The class will be conducted by Lower Merion Police.
The Lower Merion Community Watch is 36 years old, and has been recognized among the finest community watch programs in the country, Matt Peskin, president of Lower Merion Community Watch, said.

“It’s a great way to help protect your neighborhood and your family,” Peskin said.
After completing the training program, residents patrol their own neighborhoods as part of either day or night patrols, Peskin said.

“It is not a big commitment in terms of time,” Peskin said. “You decide how often you want to patrol.”
Lower Merion Community Watch members have volunteered more than 112,000 hours and have patrolled 592,000 miles, Peskin said.
