Lower Merion, Norristown Fire Companies to Help Each Other

Lower Merion Township has tentatively approved a mutual-aid agreement with Norristown Borough.

Under the agreement, a command structure is spelled out for the two fire companies, The Times Herald says.

Fire companies often help each other in times of need, but this is the first time such an agreement has been spelled out, The Times Herald said.

Lower Merion is interested in pursuing mutual-aid agreements with other nearby municipalities, The Times Herald said.
