Nothing's Too Good for This Thief

A man took a bottle of the good stuff from a Bryn Mawr store on Friday.

A bottle of Dom Pérignon rosé champagne, valued at $300, was stolen from the Wine and Spirits in Bryn Mawr on Friday morning, March 8, Lower Merion police said at a briefing.

A store clerk told police that around 11 a.m., a customer asked to see a bottle of the champagne, which was behind the counter. After viewing the bottle, the customer asked the clerk for four bottles of a cheaper, comparable champagne.

The clerk walked to the back of the store to retrieve the bottles, and then put the bottle of Dom Pérignon down to assist another customer. When the clerk returned, both the bottle and the customer were gone, according to the report.
