Police Activity: Lower Merion Gets 36 Theft Calls in Two Weeks

Calls for service decreased after Hurricane Irene, though.

The weeks ending Sept. 4 and Sept. 11 produced fewer calls for Lower Merion police service than the previous week (when Hurricane Irene came through), but theft reports have kept officers busy, according to department records.

The weekly reports of calls for service posted on the township's website showed 895 calls for service in the week ending Sept. 4 and 707 calls in the week ending Sept. 11. (The department counted 975 calls the week before, many of them for road obstructions caused by fallen trees.)

Versions of the reports sorted by type of incident are attached to this article. In the past two weeks combined, the police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:
