Police Blotter: Bryn Mawr Hospital Treats Brownies Patron Hit By Chair

The Lower Merion Police Department's weekly media briefing Monday afternoon included information on the following incidents in the Bryn Mawr-Gladwyne area:

Simple assault: Police arrested a Springfield man at Brownies 23 East early Saturday morning and charged him with simple assault, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, recklessly endangering another person and harassment. Police said Michael Tubens, 26, threw a chair toward a bouncer trying to break up a fight about 1:40 a.m., but the chair instead hit an unidentified woman standing nearby, cutting her on the face and requiring her to be treated at . Police did not know her medical condition Monday. Tubens is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday morning in front of Judge Francis J. Bernhardt III in Conshohocken. 

Attempted burglary: Residents of a house on the 800 block of Black Rock Road in Gladwyne returned home July 19 from four days away and discovered damage to the front door frame. Police observed pry marks and evidence that someone had attempted to force the door open by ramming it, perhaps with a shoulder. The door held, however, and nothing was found to be missing or disturbed inside, police said.

Theft: An employee of  on the 700 block of Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr reported on July 20 that someone stole her T-Mobile phone, car keys and $200 cash from a backpack she had left in a cabinet the same day, police said. There were no witnesses.
