Stolen Bike, Home Burglary in Police Blotter

Read about two recent incidents in Bryn Mawr and Villanova.

The following information was supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department.

Bike theft

A white Cannondale bike, worth $1,300, was stolen from the Bryn Mawr Train Station on April 4, police said. The complainant told police he’d locked the bike up with a Kryptonite bike lock around 8:05 a.m. and returned at 6 p.m. to find the bike gone, the report states.

Burglary

A home on the 400 block of Devereux Drive in Villanova was burglarized while homeowners were away this week, police said. The burglary occurred between 3 p.m. on April 6 and 10:53 p.m. on April 7, when homeowners returned to find that a door on their main floor had been forced open, according to the report. Several pieces of jewelry were taken, but an estimated value is unknown at this time, police said.
