ULI Philadelphia Presents: Tour Paseo Verde ~ Nation’s First Platinum LEED-ND Project
Paseo Verde is a newly-completed mixed-use TOD by Asociacion Puertorriquenos en Marcha (APM) and the Jonathan Rose Companies, NY — the nation’s first Platinum LEED Neighborhood Development. Located adjacent to Temple University’s Regional Rail station in Eastern North Philadelphia, this development transformed an underutilized lot into a healthy living environment for residents through sustainable practices as well as cost savings through effective reduction in energy use. Healthy features include energy efficient architectural design utilizing green and blue roofs, efficient mechanical systems, solar panels, ENERGY STAR-rated appliances and fixtures, low- or no-VOC paints and primers, and formaldehyde-free materials to enhance indoor air quality and reduce environmentally-triggered health conditions such as asthma, as well as permeable paving, water gardens, and the use of recyclable and renewable materials. Paseo Verde includes both affordable and market rate rental apartments and off-street parking. Amenities range from a fitness center, state-of-the-art technology education center, community room, landscaped terraces, community garden, and ground-floor retail, to a primary care facility operated by Public Health Management Corp., social services provided by APM, and a pharmacy.
