Canon-McMillan and Chartiers-Houston graduates receive Washington Financial Scholarship

Washington Financial awarded scholarships to Emily McPeake of Canon-McMillan, Nicole Stevenson of Chartiers-Houston, and Jordan T. Yates of Chartiers-Houston.  The Bank awards 10 scholarships to local students each year based primarily on community service and academic achievement. 

 

Ms. McPeake volunteers at Meals on Wheels, delivering food to the homebound.  She will attend the University of Pittsburgh and study Biology in the fall.

Ms. Stevenson is actively involved with St. Michael’s Church, the Leo Club and Canonsburg Hospital, where she volunteers in the snack shop.  She plans to study Business at Robert Morris University.

Mr. Yates volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 4-H and the Shriner’s Hospital.  He plans to study Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio Northern University.

 

Other recipients of the Bank's 2013 scholarship include Taylor Allen, Desiree Dever, James S. Dlugos, III, Jake Floyd, Natalie Gloady, Mikayla Lunardini and Leah Marie Seader.

 

Washington Financial Bank commends its scholarship recipients on their exceptional commitment to their academics and community.  This year’s recipients logged more than 2,700 community service hours.
