Troopers also plan a DUI checkpoint somewhere in Franklin County in May and outline several ongoing fraud and theft investigations in nearby communities. 
• Louise I. 'Sis' Stouffer 1928-2026 (fcfreepresspa.com) — Chambersburg is mourning Louise “Sis” Stouffer, 97, a longtime local worker and caregiver who recently passed away at her daughter’s home. She spent decades employed at the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, was active in Lurgan United Brethren Church, and leaves behind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family across Chambersburg and nearby towns.
• Central Dauphin rallies to edge Trojans in softball, 2-1 (thesportspage.blog) — Chambersburg’s softball team let a 1-0 lead slip away Tuesday at Norlo Park, falling 2-1 to Central Dauphin after late Rams rallies in the sixth and seventh innings. Despite strong pitching from Issie Slimmer and early offense from Marley Onomastico, the Trojans’ bats went quiet as CD’s Autumn Andreoli retired 16 straight hitters.
