• Charlotte Ann Schimansky 1937-2026 (fcfreepresspa.com) — Family, friends, and neighbors in Chambersburg are invited to honor the life of Charlotte Ann Vorhes Schimansky, 89, with visitation and services Monday afternoon at Sellers Funeral Home on Philadelphia Avenue. A longtime caregiver and active community member with deep Chambersburg ties, she is remembered for her kindness, love of family, and joyful hobbies before burial the following day in Washington, Pennsylvania.
   

• Rally in the Valley crowns winners in six pickleball divisions (localnews1.org) — Chambersburg pickleball players just wrapped up the fifth annual Rally in the Valley tournament at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, with medals awarded across six doubles divisions. Hosted by the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, the Oct. 16–17 event drew strong local participation and support from numerous Chambersburg-area sponsors, highlighting the sport’s growing community following.
   

• PA House passed e-scooter legislation yesterday - Tri-State Alert (tristatealert.com) — Chambersburg residents frustrated by unruly e-bike and e-scooter use on sidewalks and streets may see relief from new statewide rules advancing in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania House just passed a bill setting safety standards and allowing local programs, and it now heads to the Senate, potentially shaping how Chambersburg can regulate these devices.
