3 Hurt, Many Displaced In Germantown Apartment Fire Monday

An apartment building in the Germantown section of city caught fire Monday night. Three people were hurt and many displaced as a result.

PHILADELPHIA — A fire broke out in a Germantown apartment building Monday night and three people were hurt and many others displaced as a result, according to reports.

The Philadelphia Fire Department said a six-story apartment building on the 5700 block of Morris Street caught fire at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Three people were hurt in the fire and numerous residents were displaced, according to Action News.

Central High School, at 1700 W. Olney Ave., is serving as a temporary location for warming and to bring services from agencies like the Red Cross and Salvation Army in one place for affected residents.

The fire department reported the fire was under control by 12:25 a.m.

The Office of Emergency Management said it is working with partners to support residents affected by the fire.
