Armed Robber Holds Up Stenton Rite Aid: Police

The robbery occurred earlier in December at a Rite Aid on Ogontz Avenue in the Stenton neighborhood of Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA – A Rite Aid store in Philadelphia's Stenton section was robbed at gunpoint earlier this month and police are searching for the suspect.

According to Philadelphia Police, the robbery occurred at about 8:59 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Rite Aid at 7401 Ogontz Ave.

The suspect – described as a black male who was about 6 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build, dark complexion and a clean-shaven face – came into the store and pulled out handgun, police said.

He demanded money from the cash register then fled the store with it after getting an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident, according to police.

The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, black jacket with a
black leather jacket underneath, blue jeans, and was armed with a handgun.

The public should not approach the suspect and should call 911 if he is spotted.
