Arrest Made In Slaying Of Elderly Mt. Airy Woman

An arrest has been made in the brutal murder of an elderly Mount Airy woman.

Leroy Wilson, 37, has been arrested in connection with the murder of Regina Brunner, 85, Philadelphia Police announced Saturday. Wilson was arrested Saturday in Norristown, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. He reportedly lived with girlfriends in Norristown and North Philadelphia.

Brunner was found with a slashed throat Monday morning in her Roumfort Road home. Her car, a 2007 silver Toyota Corolla, was also missing and police had been looking for it. It was located two days later in North Philadelphia.

Detectives worked “24/7” since the killing to locate a suspect, police said.

Police were called to Brunner’s home around 11 a.m. Monday, according to reports. When they arrived, they found the deceased woman.
