Attic Brewing Opening Germantown Brewery, Taproom

If you weren't sure if Philly's beer scene was booming or not, just look at Attic Brewing's soon-to-be open new digs in Germantown.

GERMANTOWN, PHILADELPHIA — A new spot to enjoy craft brews is coming to Germantown, adding to Philadelphia's seemingly ever-growing beer scene.

Attic Brewing, which started Laura and Todd Lacy's attic back in 2010, is planning to open at 137 Berkley Street, just a few blocks from the Wayne Junction train stop.

The brewers are converting a 6,000 square foot former pencil warehouse into a brewery and taproom. We've included some progress photos from Attic below.

It was initially though to be open in spring 2019, but the current plans expect a late 2019 openings.

"We are building a 10 barrel brewing system and taproom while keeping as much of the historical character of the structure that we can," Attic Brewing says on their website. "We will also be right next to Deke's BBQ and the new Wayne Junction Diner!"

Attic says beer drinkers can expect 12-plus crafted ales and lagers on tap and ready to rotate throughout the season.

Additionally, hand pump beer engines will be on site for special cask ales.

Inside the taproom, guests will see decor with a vintage style and lots of seating, with a separate growler-filling station for easy in-and-out beer runs.

While Attic won't serve its own food, guests are encouraged to bring their own grub.

And there is no need to leave your fur babies at home, as Attic will be pet friendly.

Some events and activities planned for Attic include live music, quizzo, history parties, Metal Mondays, and much more.
