Black Music Month celebrated at Jazz Vespers at UU church on Stenton Ave
June is Black Music Month. The UU church on Stenton Avenue in Northwest Philly is featuring its Jazz Vespers this Sunday the 21st at 4:30 pm
June is Black Music Month. The Unitarian Universalist church on Stenton Avenue in Northwest Philly is featuring its Jazz Vespers with Kenyetta Payton and Tony Day this Sunday, June 21st @ 4:30 pm. The Church of the Restoration is on 6900 Stenton Ave at Gorgas Lane in East Mt. Airy (19150). The donation is a sliding scale of $10 to $15 and refreshments are served.
Kenyetta is a Philadelphia-based vocalist whose inspiration comes from her mother, Brenda Payton, a cornerstone of the Philly Sound with billboard top charting hits. Tony Day is the bandleader for Across the Globe Jazz Group and has performed headliner acts in Las Vegas, Atlantic City as well as at major jazz festivals.
