Bottles Thrown At Police During Germantown Party Break Up
Teens reportedly began throwing bottles at police as officers tried to break up the roughly 400 person gathering Sunday evening.

PHILADELPHIA – A large group of people, including teens, threw bottles at Philadelphia Police as officers attempted to disperse hundreds of people in the Germantown section of the city Sunday evening, according to police and media reports.
Police said officers responded to a recreation center at 5600 Ardleigh Street Sunday, July 16 at about 7:40 p.m. for a report of a large crowd.
Police found about 400 people at the center which had loud music playing from the basketball courts at the center, according to police.

Police had the DJ turn off the music at which time the crowd of about four hundred people refused to disperse after several orders to do so, according to police.
6ABC reports altercations broke out at about 9:30 p.m. just a few blocks from the center, saying some of the 400 people including teens began throwing bottles at police.

Police said the crowd eventually dispersed without any reported injuries to police or civilians and no arrests were made.
The outlet reports teens used social media to coordinate the gathering.
